This was an epic weekend of Djing. OUTSIDE LANDS kicked ass, it was a great event and was super fun being able to dj it. The after party with Chromeo was super fun as well.

on wednesday, i had the chance to model for club music gods designer drugs for their new video, “for all we know.” the video itself was shot by my (crazy hot photographer/ videographer/ model and overall fierce) friend, elle rex. elle’s been a regular photographer on the club/music scene in new york for ages, and she’s got an amazing eye for catching memorable (and hot) party moments. what a blast to work with her and the boys from DD.
this was the second time I’ve been in a music video recently, the other being jeffrey’s “i’m not alright.” (yes, that’s a shameless self-plug, so check it out.) the party started at noon with hair and make-up, which went a lot faster than usual. the location was a super cool studio where spike jonze (think beastie boys’ “sabotage,” and “being john malkovich”) shot lcd soundsystem video. the theme was (head-tilt?) goth nautical (i know – what?). super cool to hang out in studio with so much history, with such cool and inspiring people. the scene itself was barely brain surgery, but i loved it. basically we walked around on a grunge-y, rust-colored couch while the boys from DD drank and looked like pimps (see below).
not to overstate my role in the video, the scene was actually just one part of the full video, which will be out in september (be sure to check it out!) in the meantime, check out their last video for “drop down” (think spooky-creepy-edgy-chic cemetery scene).
before I sign off, i just want to say that elle did a hella good job in her directorial debut. she was poised, cool, collected and awesome. love you, elle!

the May issue of Vogue Paris is paying tribute to Alexander McQueen in this erotica inspired spread. the spread is photographed by Steven Klein and features Lily Donaldson in dark looks by Dior, Chanel and Valentino Haute Couture. this is like candy for me.
if you’re not familiar with steven klein you can learn more about him here. he’s slotted to do the next Lady Gaga video which isn’t terribly surprising…there’s more on that here.

DJing at The Drunken Unicorn

Crowd at The Drunken Unicorn

shouting into the megaphone “who here is gay and likes to have sex with men” (didn’t go over very well hahaha)
It was an epic night in Atlanta for the Fuck Yesss party. It’s the only party we’ve ever been to like Blow Up where people actually go so crazy for the music. The vibe is a dirty, sweaty, fun, rock style party and it goes hard! Dylan / Le Castle Vania was cool enough to bring us out and show us “how they do in the Dirty South” : )
It was photographer Ryan/Oh Snap Kid’s birthday party and he and Dylan bought a Blow Up Doll for party to celebrate the Blow Up vs Fuck Yesss theme. As you could imagine there were tons of lewd photos of people posing with the doll (coming soon).

Here’s one of the crazy highlights of the night. Richie Panic threw the doll into the crowd during the breakdown in Zero Machine in Dylan’s set and the doll crowd surfed for about 10 minutes.
RRRump also DJed and they were fucking awesome, I’d recommend seeing them or booking them if you get the chance.

Richie & I getting Coffee before the gig + a Link to a few more photos
Big thanks to Dylan, Ryan, Anthony, and Adrian for making it happen!

by a photographer last week when we were in front of a new window display downtown. he was nice enough to track us down. his name is alan fishleder and he sent us and email with his favorite image along with some really sweet things to say. i love that even though we knew him for less than five minutes, sometimes meeting a stranger can turn into something so neat.
