changes + disco

« apocalypse now
happy 4th of july! »

First off, this video is simply amazing, I’ve always loved this song and when I came across this video, wow, it takes this song to a whole new level!!!

I chose to post this song because lately there has been a so so so much change in my life, nearly everything that is/was important to me has been in flux in one what or another. And it’s all happened over the course of the last 6 months. It has been a real challenge to understand and to cope with. And well, I’ve been doing my best to meet these challenges head on and keep things in perspective. It’s been a very eye opening experience.

Blow Up ending at Rickshaw has been the biggest challenge: it was my life, what I did every week, what I focused on every day, and then one day, BAM, its just over.

Moving the party to Kelly’s Mission Rock is working out… but it has not been a perfect fit just yet… the owners there are really really cool and we are all working collectively to get it right, and to basically get the security to stop being jerks. We are all working to create an environment that will be an even better place to party at than Blow Up has ever been. We are meeting every week to iron out kinks and get things right.

Thanks to everyone for their help and support through this.

I really have to thank everyone on the BLOW UP crew, as we’ve all had to really dig in our collective heels to make this massive transition possible. Thanks to Noel and Omar at Kelly’s who have gone out of their way to adjust to some of our needs to make Blow Up fit at their venue. Thankfully we are all committed to the same goal, and together we have made lots of improvements, so things will be running smoothly shortly!

The change of being on the east coast for most of the last 3 months has really helped me to keep my sanity during all this, the distance really helps to keep things in the proper perspective, and there have been many pleasant surprises that I may not have noticed if I was surrounded by my routines, and those surprises have really helped to off set some of the huge disappointments I’ve had to accept in my personal life.

It’s been an odd 6 months, so far most of theses negative events have had an equal if not larger positive side, and I have learned so much through out it all.

This post could go on and on about all the other events that have been life altering, but lets just leave it at that.

So thanks to all my friends who have been there for me, thanks to all everyone involved with Blow Up + Club 1994 for being there and sticking through these transitions + and a big special thanks goes out to DISCO MUSIC for making me happy when I’m down.

see ya soon,
Jeffrey
